The Ecomuseu de Barroso proposes a journey to the past, to ancient times. You can see, touch, feel, smell and listen. Through your senses, you have the opportunity to discover a different and enchanted world, where the Celts, Romans and other valiant and fantastic people lived. Strong people capable of building enchanted castles, monasteries and bridges and that told stories capable of creating goosebumps and invented “magic potions” that until today feed our imagination.
The Ecomuseu de Barroso has the mission of preserving the memory of those that lived and live in this region. Here and in all the other themed headquarters spread through the municipalities of Montalegre and Boticas, it is possible to get to know the main activities to which people are dedicated, the objects they used, the clothes they wore, how they cured when sick and how they occupied their free time, in a time when the resources of today did not exist.
